Mountain Bike Patrol Training, Sept 15th

We would like to invite anyone that is interested to join us for Mountain Bike Patrol training. For more information on the National Mountain Bike Patrol, check out the IMBA page here: http://www.imba.com/nmbp. If you are not sure if you want to join or not, this is free and you're not required to commit to anything.

Who can join? Anyone can join as long as you can ride mountain bike trails, are willing to learn trail side bike repair, and are willing to get CPR & First Aid certified. We need more patrollers out there, so if you ride anyway, why not join up? It gives you a chance to help out as well as provide a service back to the parks that we all ride.

The training is September 15 starting at 11 AM at Maybury State Park. We will meet in the Day Camp for the classroom session, then ride the trail. I imagine we should be done in 2-3 hours.

Please park in the 8 mile lot, and ride in to the Day Camp. Take the paved path as if you were going to the MTB trail head, but before you get there turn left and head towards the fishing pond. Ride all the way back to signpost #9, turn left on to the dirt road and just beyond the volleyball net you will see the Day Camp. I will put a few signs up.

We will go over the IMBA powerpoint presentation plus a few local information points, then ride the trail with some live action scenarios to practice with.

Chapter Meeting, Sept 9th at Maybury

Please join us for an MCMBA chapter meeting at Maybury State Park on Sept 9th. We'll provide a chapter update and a review of the results of our recent membership survey. This is a great opportunity to see what others are thinking, provide feedback, and help chart a course for the future of our chapter.

We'll be meeting at the Oak shelter (see map at http://mmba.org/library/maps/maybury/maybury_map.pdf ). Enter the park off 8 mile and turn left at the T to park.

Bring your bike - the Maybury trail is open and in excellent shape.

We'll fire up the chapter grill starting at 6 pm, and provide burgers, hotdogs, and soft drinks. Feel free to  bring adult beverages if you desire.

Meeting starts at 7 pm.

  1. Welcome and opening comments
  2. Approve Minutes from June Meeting
  3. Chapter update
  4. Survey result presentation and discussion
  5. Adjourn

We hope to wrap things up around 8:30, leaving time for a night lap of Maybury (bring lights!)

Out of park before it closes at 10 pm.

See you there!

Survey closed - Thanks for participating!

Thanks for your excellent response to our recent survey! We received over 90 responses, and over 30% of our membership participated.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be discussing ways to incorporate this feedback and sharing the results with our membership. Stay tuned. As always, feel free to reach out to us via the contact page at any time.

See you at the Maybury Time Trial!

Tree Farm Relay - Thanks!

Thanks to our 117 teams who participated in this year's Tree Farm Relay! The rain held off for most of the day and the course was buffed and polished by dozens of volunteers over the past week.

Results are available on the Race Services website, and photos have been posted by participating teams on FB and the MMBA board.

Next up: Maybury!

Membership Survey

In order to better serve our members, the MCMBA board is doing a survey to better understand the interests, needs, and perceptions of the chapter. Whether you're a member or not, we're interested in your opinions!

This survey includes sections on membership, trail days, chapter meetings, and events.

This survey should take less than 10 minutes of your time. Feel free to skip questions or sections and focus on what is important to you.
